3 Island Challenge — We Did It!

Yeah Boys!!!! We did it. I just have to thank all of the guys who showed up today: Some really played out of their minds including Murray, Bill Dickerson and Kevin Kupka. I know there are more but those 3 brought home the hardware. Speaking of the hardware, I'm holding that trophy until Saturday at the Annual Meeting where I might give it back to Jeff and the rest of the Wild Dunes team. I'm so proud of all of us. Great job, great frikkin job!!! — Mike G

Senior Interclub Match — Seniors End Season 4–2, Playoffs Ahead!

Our team of Gollobin, Ramaker, Raines, Wilson, Murray, Flint, Mitchell and Eisner had a battle on their hands today against a CCC team that wanted some revenge. Unfortunately, we lost by a score of 44.50 to 35.50.

But the good news is that the Seniors have ended the season with a 4–2 record, the same as the Super Seniors. Both marks will get us into the playoffs and we will have more matches to compete in.

Let's take the time to enjoy our accomplishments this season by both teams. Details on the playoffs (which start in August) coming soon.

Wild Dunes MGA — World's Largest Private Prostate Cancer Fundraiser

What started as a fundraiser golf tournament on a nice day out on the links has turned into a seriously big deal for all parties involved. The Wild Dunes Men's Golf Association's annual Golf for a Cause tournament on the Isle of Palms — with its auctions and sponsors — has become the largest single private fundraiser for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in the world.

The event has raised over $1.6 million to fund prostate cancer research, and is on track to exceed $2.2 million. Tournament Chairman Mike Muzzy: "For me to be able to help in a meaningful way is fantastic — and it's such a fun way to do it. To be the number one fundraiser, to have raised more than anyone else in the country at our outing, is tremendous. It's tremendously fulfilling."

Wild Dunes Wins 42–38 at Daniel Island!

That's how we start the season! Congratulations to the team of Gollobin, Ramaker, Lese, Marrs, Hahn, Bowman, Young and Gogol. They pulled out a 42–38 nailbiter win ON THE ROAD against a very tough Daniel Island team. I guarantee you — their captain is NOT happy and will be holding two-a-days mandatory practices with wind sprints for the next week.

We held the lead through the entire match and withstood a late push by the DI. Most importantly the TEAM played the last four holes to a draw. Not easy to do on someone else's course.

Let's keep the momentum going — lineup for next week's Super Senior match coming soon.

Maintenance Appreciation Lunch

I thought it was a great team effort but an especially great effort by Chef-boy Mike Muzzy. He put on quite the show with his utensils. Well done everyone. Thanks, Jeff, for getting and bringing everything. We should probably do it more often and would you ever consider setting up a grill and a chef like on the deck outside the Fazio room for food and for players coming through 9 to 10 or even 13 to 14? Not all year, but during the popular golf seasons? It would be a lot better than the halfway house and/or Huey's. Just a thought.
